in the heart of nature
The Estate / Our story
A story written in motion
Le Champ des Murailles is not a fixed estate.
It is a living, fragmented, organic place, made up of 40 plots that draw an intimate geography of the Languedoc.
Here, between untamed garrigue and sunlit hills, the vines seem to float between sky and earth, in a constant dialogue with the elements.
Spread over 65 hectares, where the western slopes of the Pinada massif meet the southern faces of the Alaric, this corner of Languedoc doesn’t follow the rules: it reinvents them. It is the land of a free, thoughtful, respectful viticulture. A place where ancestral know-how and a modern vision coexist, and where what matters most stays central: making wine with intention.
Champ des Murailles is not here to follow a trend. It is here to give a landscape a voice.
And that voice is raw, bold, fully connected to the land that carries it.
The Estate / Our terroir
A terroir with many voices
The estate lives on a mosaic of soils and microclimates, which we learn to listen to year after year.
- The poudingues—a mix of rounded stones and limestone—bring drainage and suppleness, for wines that are taut and vibrant.
- The warmer Mediterranean red soils ensure early ripeness and a sunlit expression.
- The deep clay-limestone soils anchor the roots, bringing structure, density, and a vertical reading of the place.
The climate here is unique.
Rain is more present here than elsewhere in Corbières—an invaluable gift on lands often thirsty. The sun, less harsh, respects the cycles. And harsh winters and cool nights shape ripening. You can taste this climate–soil–grape dialogue in the wines: natural tension, a southern elegance without excess.
The Estate / The cellar
A discreet cellar, a demanding team
In 2020, a cellar was born, directly from the earth: ochre like the hillside, shaped from raw earth and water. More than a winemaking space, it is a form of architectural coherence. It does not impose itself. It recedes. It enables.
The cellar is designed as a tool for precision, not as a showcase.
- Temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to respect each wine’s profile
- Smooth surfaces to limit water consumption
- High-performance bottling line, nitrogen inerting, optimal preservation
- Minimal interventions, but meticulously precise: nothing is done “as a principle”; everything is done to preserve intention.
The Estate / Our commitments
Living viticulture, in step with the world
All vines are farmed under certified organic agriculture, aligned with what we believe: that a true wine can only be born from a respected soil and a preserved ecosystem.
The plots are worked in respect of natural cycles, in symbiosis with the elements. Nothing is forced, nothing is standardized. Each row tells its own story.
Wind, light, the soil’s silence. In winter, sheep graze between the vines. Life circulates, feeds, balances. And we simply accompany it.
Our vision is neither a step backward nor a radical stance. It is a quest for harmony between what was, what is coming, and what makes sense today.
But preserving life is not enough: it must also be protected.
That is why we pay particular attention to controlling dissolved oxygen at every stage of winemaking and bottling.
Thanks to nitrogen inerting, gentle transfers, and rigorous hygiene, we drastically limit premature oxidation to preserve aromatic integrity and the wine’s precision.
This care—imperceptible to the consumer—is an additional form of respect: not betraying what nature and the vintage have offered.
This is where tradition meets technique—without losing itself.
